Eat Their Words Field Trip ::: Saturday, June 22 11-noon
Join Hive Center for the Book Arts for our first Eat Their Words Field Trip on June 22!
We'll learn ethical foraging techniques with Natalie Evans as we experience a plant walk through Edible Evanston's food forest at Eggleston Park in Evanston.
With your ticket price, you'll also receive a copy of Iliana Regan's Fieldwork, courtesy of Booked!
From Natalie Evans' website:
"Find out about the wild edible foods growing all around you! Learn how to identify, forage, and eat wild plants in a responsible and ethical way. We will go on a plant walk around the park to point out the wild foods in season.
There will be no foraging on the walk to help prevent damage to the ecosystem the plants reside there. Careless foraging can lead to certain plants becoming endangered and if you are caught foraging in areas where it's illegal to forage you will be fined. However, I will provide notecards with information on the edible plants that you can snap pictures of to keep for future reference and use this information to harvest plants in acceptable locations."
